#1. Devon Taylor - $1,000
Vancouver Office - University of Victoria
"If it is to be, it is up to me." "This motto, used by many members of the Vector family, was what I lived by all summer. I knew
I was the only one that could make my dreams a reality and win the Scholarship. This summer was full of hard work,
challenges, office duties, and a determination to come out on top. There was however the ever prevalent, work hard, play
harder aspect of the Vector Opportunity which shone through in these instances. The Race for the Scholarship was one of
nail biting, fretting, and holding my breath right until the end while I was standing on the stage with my fellow
contestants. If it was not for the guidance and constant push from Chad Mah, Sally Ngo, Mario Vetro, and Sibylle Stipp, I
probably would have given up and taken my one week holiday free from "burden". Thanks to these four people, and Mr.
Jared Seitz, I was pushed to power through my holiday and came out on top. Without the support of Chad and the
Vancouver office I would not have had the privilege of winning the scholarship cup, nor the ability to have the company
donate $1000 to my programme at UVic (Theatre program). Thank you to everyone who helped me this summer, and it is
with baited breath that I await next summer and follow the path to victory with new reps and managers."

#2. Jared Seitz - $500
Edmonton Office - University of Alberta
"When I scheduled a time for my Vector interview last May, I went in hopes of securing a summer position
as I was still a high school student. Fortunately, I was lit on fire by the Vector opportunity when my
manager, Damian Olson, finally explained the "too exciting for you right now" Fast Start. No wonder he
was wearing a fire helmet when he told us. Excited and eager, I left my textbooks at school for the next
couple of weeks and was able to get off to a great start. Lonny Erasmus called me almost every morning of
the summer to get me up and calling, and although we had a few squabbles over the phone I am thankful
he did. There is no better feeling than being a Push Week champion. There were happy and hard times for
me last summer, but I know I am a better person for having endured both."

#3. Thad Tondu - $400
Edmonton Office - Grant MacEwan Community College
"What a summer! Out of the 20 summers I have had in my lifetime, this was the best. Number
three in the scholarship race is something to be proud of. I could name off so many people that
helped, but this sums it up: Thanks to everyone in Vector! So many great people that I have
enjoyed, and will continue to enjoy, working with. As a business student, the skills that I have
learned this past summer will increase my success in the future. I am looking forward to
enjoying much more success and ongoing training with Vector. Vector has taught me so much,
not just about myself but about life skills in general. Thanks again to everyone at Vector. Look
forward to my write up in the Fall Campaign Scholarship."

Burloak Office - University of Western Ontario
"Fantastic four eh...? Not too shabby. What an AWESOME summer it was! I hung out with my
friends all the time, enjoyed every weekend, played football and soccer, went to movies, swam in
my pool, went to the gym, and still made $20,000! That’s right, $20,000! If I was you, sitting in an
interview, or in training, I probably wouldn’t believe me either if I read that. It doesn’t really
matter though, because I did! I definitely worked hard when I was working, and you can’t achieve
success without hard work, but Vector gives you the flexibility to work when you want, and as
much as you want. I love this job and I have made over 5 figures the past three summers that I
have worked here. I hope if you are working for this company you take full advantage of the
opportunity that’s being presented to you."

#5. Steve Gould - $200
Hamilton Office - Wilfred Laurier University
"My third summer with Vector and by far my most profitable and most enjoyable! I have
learned so much in my first two years with Vector and grown so much as an individual. Never
coming out of grade 12 would I have thought that I would be selling knives, but I’ve come to
realize this is the most rewarding and best paying position that a student can have. This
summer I decided to take full advantage of the Field Sales Manager opportunity and sell full
time. This position allowed me to work part time hours and earn a very lucrative income. Best
of all I was able to grow my business, meet lots of interesting people, have complete autonomy
in my schedule and make lots of new friends in the company. Lastly, I would like to thank
Trent, Barrie, Andy and Mark for helping me and keeping me motivated throughout the
summer."
